24-HOUR GAME SHOW MARATHON RETURNS FOR THIRD YEAR
On Saturday, May 17, 2014, Cory Anotado, Bob Hagh and Christian Carrion will present 24-Hour Game Show Marathon 3, originating in Philadelphia, PA and featuring 24 different game show formats in a daylong continuous charity broadcast. The 24-Hour Game Show Marathon live stream will be available for viewing at GameShowMarathon.com, where viewers will also be able to tweet and chat with the in-studio guests in real time. Throughout the show, donations will be accepted on behalf of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, in an effort to reach a donation goal of $2,500.
The marathon schedule will consist of one game each hour, for 24 hours starting at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 17 to 12:00pm on Sunday, May 18. The games that will be played during the show will include well-known American formats like Minute To Win It, Family Feud and The $25,000 Pyramid, as well as classic British quiz shows such as Countdown, Bob’s Full House and Only Connect. Every show in the broadcast will feature Cory, Bob and Christian as a host, contestant or panelist. In addition, game material (questions, puzzles, etc.), music, game equipment, and graphics for each of the 24 games in the marathon will be gathered by Cory, Bob and Christian in the months leading up to the show.
Last April, the Second Annual 24-Hour Game Show Marathon was a huge success, having raised over $5,000 for the American Cancer Society and Baltimore’s Kennedy Krieger Institute. The first annual Marathon holds the record for the most listened to broadcast in the 50-year history of WSIN, the official radio station of Southern Connecticut State University. The 24-Hour Game Show Marathon is also the longest continuous broadcast in the history of Connecticut radio.
In the past three years, the 24-Hour Game Show Marathon has attracted the attention of several prominent media outlets and newspapers, such as Buzzerblog, RedHeadedMule.com, the New Haven Register, and WTIC-TV. This year, Pennsylvania’s WGAL-TV, WJTL-FM, WMMR-FM, 105.7 THE X, the Lancaster New Era, and WHTM-TV (ABC 27) have expressed interest in reporting on the event and interviewing the participants.
