That's one of the funnier statements I've heard in a long time, because I promise you that 90% of news anchors who are only visible from the waist up through the entirety of their show are either wearing a) jeans, b) sweats, or c) shorts underneath that desk.

I did C when my senior picture was taken, since it was a hot summer day. :-)

I saw a news blooper where a male news anchor fell back in his chair, and it was revealed that he had NO pants on. Only boxers.

I can top that...there was one occasion on The Tonight Show where Carson was doing a Shirley Temple bit...he flounced his skirt, and the first few rows got a nice peek, if you know what I mean. :-D
