I can't confirm if there's any connection to the recent French Belgian version from last summer, but circumstantial evidence is there:
Hervé Hubert has a pretty decent resume with game shows; he had a hand in the French versions of Wheel of Fortune, Let's Make a Deal, and The Price is Right, so I'm certainly interested in seeing where he takes this.
