In his defense, I can see that post being misinterpreted if you're not familiar with the not-really-but-maybe-a-little-slangy "out of" part.

(That said, the followup sentence should have provided more than a bit of context.)

Looking at that pic of the Jeopardy! set, I must say I like it a lot more with the pillared backdrop. It adds a "collegiate" presence IMO.

Taping out of in L.A. does and doesn't surprise me. I know Sony's base is in Culver City, and that Wheel/Jeopardy! tape there, but it still surprises me given Dan's being on the East Coast.

That being said, it makes sense if the Sports Jeopardy! crew members come from the mothership (esp. if the shows tape on the same lot), as opposed to having to get a new crew ready in NYC or CT, or worse, paying for everyone to travel cross-country, esp. if there's already other tournaments. Paying for a host to commute is a much better option than paying for dozens of production staff.

And not that I would consider it a negative, but I imagine the show will modify the current J! set, rather than use most of its own parts, like Rock & Roll Jeopardy did.

Even though it appears just to be a link repository, I'm skeptical of a website that looks like should be on Geocities.

Jeopardytickets.tv is laid out the same way.

Yeah, got a real "1997" vibe out of that site too. Especially with the animated GIFs.

Since it's the same guy's audience-filling company (Select Audiences), this is not surprising.

Click the following link for some set pictures of the show:

Apparently, the show will use six categories, and only four clues per category in each round.

Why the hell are they shortening the board, he wonders, expecting to be severely unimpressed by the reasoning.

I do appreciate the way that the scoreboard is used to do shout-outs to important sporting history.  Simple but fun.

I was wondering whether there was significance involved with that...finding out what two of the dates were is pretty cool.

Love the set. I'm guessing that's simply the main Jeopardy! board with the baseball scoreboard simply covering the bottom row?
