Maybe a throwback to Happy Gilmore in 1996?

I would guess their makeup budget was blown out of the water for that episode.

For those (like me) who nearly missed the link at the bottom of the page, here's a direct link to the video of the scene.

The fight definitely was reminiscent of the Gilmore/Barker fight, only it REALLY looks phony. Kinda fun, but very silly.

Well...Happy Gilmore was close to 20 years ago. You've now got a 90-year-old man in a fight sequence. I'm pretty sure they can only make it look so authentic.

Besides, have you seen soap opera acting? I wouldn't put too much stock in how authentic a fight sequence looks there, compared to a Jet Li movie. :-P

In terms of acting, I thought Bob's acting was pretty good, but then again it's hardly a stretch since he's playing himself.

If he's not eating a baloney and cheeseball sandwich, I always pass.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012
