$25K Pyramid (10/17)
« on: October 17, 2014, 11:09:07 AM »
Today's episode featured a woman named Beverly, who might be the worst civilian player in the history of Pyramid. She bombed so badly in both receiving and giving in both front games. Although she did manage to win the prize in the "Mystery 7", she still is one of, if not the worst civilian Pyramid player ever.

In contrast, both celebrities, Leslie Easterbrook and Harry Waters, Jr., both of whom played Pyramid one time and two times respectively, have played fine all week long. Leslie gave away $10,000 like twice, and would have given away $25,000, if she didn't get hung up on "OUTDOOR JOBS".

This is prolly the first time where neither Pyramid celebrity's name rang a bell, and I had to look at IMDb. Looks like this was towards the end of the initial CBS run, November 1987.

I have no idea who Harry Waters. Jr., is. I only know who Leslie Easterbrook is because she was on "Laverne and Shirley" once the show moved the setting to Burbank.

Aside from being in a one-season Syndicated sitcom called What a Country!, Harry Waters, Jr. also played Marvin Berry in the first two Back to the Future movies.

I'm glad Beverly won the Mystery Seven prize; it would have leavened the letdown of getting on the show and doing poorly.

So did Leslie give away the $10k twice, or was it just like twice?

One of the few memorable things Yakov Smirnoff did before being Branson's perpetual draw.  An occasional part as Yakov on Night Court being the other.

Thank you for the upload. I feel more bad for her as it seems to me that she was more flustered than terrible, and I'm double glad she got the bonus prize.

Would I not be helping if I said he was the son of Harry Waters Sr.?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

"Will you give or receive?"  "Hi-ho, Rhonda will receive!  Rhonda is very good at receiving!"

Leslie was also seen in a little series of '80s movies, something about a police academy or something...

Thanks, Jimmy and James, for the laugh there. Furthermore, if there's a Harry Waters III, I have no idea who *he* is either.

There have been worse games,* but Bev is probably the only contestant in the two-games-per-day format whose opponent only had to play four categories. (And in Game 2, Lori had technically won before she even finished her second category.)

* In one of the 1973 shows, Ed Asner and his partner had only six points after three turns.
