Outside of Arthur or Julia's runs, I dunno if I'd put any of these on the list. But my mileage prolly varies.
I'd probably include Emil from Wheel of Fortune solving "New Baby Buggy" with only the "Ne" in New showing. That story was everywhere for a hot minute.

While not as big, Trent on Wheel also got a bit of buzz with Trent even appearing on Good Morning America.

Also, Wheel of Fortune celebrated their 6,000th episode and The Price is Right their 8,000th.

The passings of Jim Lange and Geoff Edwards, among others.....And I'm still smarting over the former.  :'(
These two are good inclusions, esp. happening so close together.
Is it really a big story that members of the old guard are dying? And given their age, why would anyone be smarting over it?

If someone was going to do a Year End Retrospective, sure, put them in the In Memoriam section,
Given that GSN thought of Lange's passing enough to pull out four hours of Dating Game episodes for a day would make it count to me as a big story. They hadn't bestowed the honor of a marathon on a late host since Clark and Dawson's passings.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

All these Wheel mentions and not one about its third millionaire?
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

Make of this what you like (I certainly have) but winning a million dollars on a game show just isn't a big deal anymore.

  Also:

Bill Bellamy becoming new host of Let's Ask America
While we're talking about Wheel of Fortune's staleness - too many Before and After puzzles  (and What Are You Doing? as well) while it takes a while for categories like Headline, Star and Role,  etc. to appear- it's news when an episode does NOT have either B&A or WAYD?

One story that has already broke:

James O'Halloran becomes TPIR's second male model (while predecessor Rob Wilson takes his talents to Days Of Our Lives)!

James O'Hallohan

Or as most people refer to him, James O'Halloran.

it's news when an episode does NOT have either B&A or WAYD?

It is? I can't help wondering what kind of fluff a 24-hour Brian Henke news channel would be filled with..

I dunno if I'd put either on the list of "Biggest" stories (definitely not the second "story"), but seeing this list is totally subjective, I guess it'll do.

I look at this sort of thing the way I look at the Top Money Winner lists or even the Most Fascinating Person/Person of the Year; everyone has their opinions about it, the fact that the opinion belongs to Brian Henke just tells us all the faster whether we want to take it in or disregard it.

Another big story that just happened:

Matt DeSanto breaking the bank on Wheel of Fortune, winning a record $91,892!!!! (while Terry is still depressed to this day over her $62,400 blowout)

I'd be willing to bet she probably went on with her life as usual

Is she even still alive? It was thirty-ish years ago.

Or to expand even further (unnecessarily, perhaps?)...how many of the big winners of the past are no longer with us?

Teddy Nadler passed in 1984.

/Stempel and Van Doren are still with us, though
