Game show music you can dance to
« on: February 10, 2015, 11:30:38 PM »
I was DJing a party at my house a few weeks ago. I usually play a lot of hip hop, soul and disco...so on that night, I snuck in my copy of the closing theme to Hot Potato, and it KILLED. Very surreal to see a room of 20-something's dancing to the theme song of a Bill Cullen show.

So, the drinks are being passed around and the vibe is right—what's on your game show dance playlist?

Thinking about it now, the HP theme does have a bit of electronica sound...I'm thinking Kraftwerk. I'd add "Bullseye" to the playlist...

A few themes have a decent techno sound, the Anderson Feud theme comes to mind. I'd love to hear the board intro music from Scrabble, that cue from when Chuck explains the rules. Howie's Deal or No Deal and Rossi's Temptation theme were actually catchy enough instrumentals to where I'd add them.

Isn't there a Millionaire techno/club mix out there somewhere? ETA: Thanks Travis...forgot all about the soundtrack.

I'd also add the Russian Roulette theme.

Tracks 75 and 76 on the soundtrack are Radio Edit and Club Edit.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

The Price is Right's remix of Bean Stalker has got a pretty good beat on it. I could definitely see people getting down to it.

I think both Tattletales themes are pretty awesome. The 70s one so rich in the sound of the decade especially with it's synthesizer driven leads. The 80s one was upbeat and has a lot of energy in it. In fact, I think the 80s one sounds a bit like "And Love Goes On" by Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Let's see, Body Language was pretty rocking. And I know they used an actual song and modified it, but Hollywood Square Biz by Teena Marie is great.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

Only the version with lyrics makes me wanna stand up and boogie.

I was hoping the video would be of the partygoers actually dancing to the music.  ;-)

The themes to all of Dick Clark's shows have a nice beat, and you can dance to them.

If you haven't swooped your cat into your arms and danced like a fool to the Spring Waltz from "Price is Right," you need to be reported to the Animal Welfare people.

(Of course, depending on your cat's reaction, perhaps you also need to be taken to the Shredded Face Clinic.)

Three words, or maybe two words, one of them hyphenated.

Back at GSC7 it was discovered that one can do the Macarena to the "Password Plus" theme.

I think it was The $25,000 Pyramid, not P+.

"Chain Reaction". /thread.
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

I wish I knew the names of the cues, but LMAD80 and 84 had two or three really funky Big Deal cues that would sound awesome on a playlist. I'd have to find an episode, but IIRC, they normally used for Big Deals involving furniture and electronics.

ETA: Here's one and here's the other.

In the mid-80s, Wheel also had a really jazzy cue used as Jack Clark described the car in the bonus round. Found it.

Add the Hit Man theme and cues as well.

I would think the instrumental version of "Make Me Laugh" would do pretty well too.
