I have a feeling you won't be hearing this guy again. Geez, I'll never take Burton for granted again

I recall a conversation where Paul was told to tone it down, as he was "way" out there. He then said something along the lines of "This is the way I do it".
Hate to burst your bubble, but according to golden-road.net, he'll be back sometime in February.

As far as Boland's remark.....maybe that's the reason why he hasn't been back since.

However, I didn't see today's episode. Remind me to tape tomorrow's episode.

Probably, plus the fact that he wasn't very good.

But Boland was 1000x better than this guy.

If Price is planning on turning off viewers, hire this guy.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt that way.  I had it on this morning to hear how he sounded and thought maybe he was tired or out of breath in the opening.  It seemed to be one step above monotone.  There was no enthusiasm or excitement.  It almost sounded like a really calm Burton Richardson at times.  Not exactly what TPiR needs, if you ask me.

Is there a sound clip of his TPIR somewhere already? If not, please notify the board if there is. I sadly neglected to tape this episode. Or not so sadly take your pick. :)

Agreeing with George here about the obscure reference, but deserved one of Mr. Bob Lorman. Announcer on "Finders Keepers" between Harvey and Joe Conklin. Awful stuff. He was like a less nasal Geoffrey Darby, which isn't saying much.

I found an interesting radio interview with Daniel concerning TPIR on his website at www.danielrosen.org (the link to the interview is contained in the TPIR popup that comes up when you first load the site)
Please make a note when Daniel says to the host (jokingly) "A Refrigerator Freezer" and "A NEW CAR".
These two things he said during this interview had more enthusiasm alone than that of his whole first show today.
The way he said "A Refrigerator Freezer" and "A NEW CAR" didn't sound half bad from what I heard of it (but I'll have to listen to the interview again)
Maybe he'll get better at it on TV.....

He also notes that Chris Harrison (Mall Masters, Bachelor) was the 3rd TPIR LIVE! host (I didn't know that until hearing this). He also mentions that the TPIR LIVE! show is coming to other Harrah's casinos.
Has Fremantle truly lost their scruples! Daniel Rosen sounds like crap IMHO! I'm not just saying that because Randy is a member of this board, it is truly what I believe. People were irked when they heard Paul Boland, but, I'll take him Burton or Randy over this guy anyday!!!
Here's my personal opinion (which so many people give a damn about) from watching the episode last night. The guy sounds like he's on helium.

Which no doubt is why he hasn't been "doing it" since that week in 2002.

I'll just say he's replaced Bob Lorman on my top list of worst announcers ever. He sounded like Paul Boland on sedatives, and his "this is Daaaaaaaaaaaaannniell Rosen" closing sounded like he was trying to be Rod, IMO.
I haven't even heard this guy yet (Tivo-willing, I will when I get home), but the first thing that springs to mind is that drawing out the name "Daniel" is just going to sound moronic no matter how you do it. For the purposes of this gig, I'd shorten it to "Dan". "Daaaaaaaan Rosen" works.

(That said, it works for Randy, because he just belts it out. "This is RANDY WEST speaking!" Yet another reason why Our Man is The Man. :))
I want this archived, save forever! I agree with Chris Lemon.

Daniel Rosen's voice makes me think I'm watching Shop Til You Drop, since his voice would be more suited to that show than TPIR(seems as though the announcers for STYD after Mark L. Walberg sound a bit like Rosen)
If I'm Randy, I'm not losing sleep over this.

Heck, if I'm Paul Boland I'm not losing sleep over this.

Does this guy have a killer warmup or something?  'Cause there are about twenty guys ON THIS FORUM who could have done a better job reading copy.
Hey Matt, I'm laid off from General Motors right now, think I should send a tape in(sarcasm)?

An actor who doesn't take direction doesn't stay an actor very long. Paul Boland is no exception. If he'd said that to Frank Wayne he'd be walking with a serious limp now.

Saw today's show, and he(Daniel) tried to sound like Rod at the show's close.

Now that you mention, some of Paul Boland's announcing is over the top. I recall on MG98 he really seemed to be that way when he would say "NELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL CARTER!". Maybe he had a thing for bigger women(not that there is anything wrong with that btw)?

I thought about that too. However, during the show, he placed his enthusiasm in the wrong places, but absolutely no energy when he told contestants to "COME ON DOWN!!!" He sounded like a generic game show announcer, and I don't mean that in a good way.
"It wasn't like this on Tic Tac Dough...Wink never gave a damn!"

I hate to pile on (okay, not that much), but what got me on today's show was his roller-coaster method for calling down contestants.

"John Q. Public, come on down. You're the next contestant! on The Price Is Right."

What's the name of the show again, Mr. Rosen? I couldn't quite make it out.
