The family that steals, regardless of format, should get the value of the answer they stole with added to the bank. It looks better that way.
Why? To me, part of being the team to steal means that you DON'T get to be the team that builds up the bank. If you want to maximize the money you make in a round, you should then elect to Play and hope you get 'em all. Part of the advantage you get from stealing is that you only need a single answer to do so, and that is tempered by building the bank being completely under the other team's control.

This proves one thing for sure - If Louie would have stayed on the show, it wouldn't have made it this far.

"BCI Communications' WGTW-TV/Philadelphia;"

That's a Philadelphia independent station, which I doubt many people watch.

Sadly, this station airs this double run during the 6:00 p.m. hour, right where...

(cue the long running "Move Closer to Your World" theme)

WPVI 6ABC's Action News airs, where it has always won it's timeslot.  Period.

"There's a joke about the National Anthem singer for the Philadelphia Flyers in here somewhere, but I'm afraid not enough people would get it to bother making it. So I won't. :)"

Oh yes, while we're on the subject...what was the joke you wanted to make about the Philadelphia Flyers National Anthem singer...buddy? :)

What I would love to see personally for Season Six is:

- Maingame score go back to dollars
- a Set and theme that resembles the Feud we know (knew?) and love.

Back when Channel 48 was WKBS(channel went blank in Summer 1983), a lot more people were watching it.

 How so?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Louie's a nice enough guy, I think. I just like Richard Karn better. At the very least, Karn's voice isn't grating.

Oh, back in the day we had a troll / moron who used to post inane questions to ATGS and rec.arts.tv about if such-and-such a show was a "firm go" for a given season, did we agree or disagree that Person X would be a good host, or that a certain list of stations should carry the show. Pretty much that wording, too. In fact a Groopsgle search on the phrases "firm go" and "agree or disagree" percolate those posts right to the top.

And his piece de resistance (piece of something else, IMO, but I digress) was the suggestion that the Anthem singer for the Flyers be tapped to host some syndicated show or another.

That said, the Flyers do suck. ;)

Go Sharks! :)

Louie had a tendency to mumble his words at times, especially during Fast Money. Enunciation is a must for a game show host, esp. when money is on the line.

One thing Louie did that Richard does even worse: tries to think of a witty way to go out to commercial, tying his "ad-lib" to the previous question. I actually caught Richard cut his eyes away to think of something witty...why don't they just write something for them? :-)

My opinion that Louie wasn't good for the show is probably the same as your opinion that Louie wasn't good for the show.  But just for the record, this renewal couldn't possibly "prove" one way or the other what might have happened if Louie was still with the show.

Why must you people continue to suffer from "Mo' Money syndrome"?  It would serve no purpose to up it...and why should a family that loses a bonus round be able to win up to $2000?

(for the record, I wasn't in favor of them raising the top prize, either).

You're both wrong.  The correct answer is the Detroit Red Wings.  Take your Turtle Wax and press-on nails and go! :-)

I feel the same way. Karn's a bit bland.
