Buzzr repeating already?
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:30:07 PM »
From what I'm hearing, Buzzr has already reverted to where they began in the runs of a few of their shows... Blockbusters, Body Language, Card Sharks and Tattletales (the first episode of which just aired.) The pilot of LMAD aired again tonight too apparently. Not sure about any others.

yep, "Tattletales" was back to episodes one and two tonight.  Not a good sign.

Wonder if maybe they're welcoming new markets, and want to start from the beginning.

From a friend who has Buzzr, everything except Press Your Luck, Super Password and Child's Play was a repeat today. And all four runs of Match Game are the same episodes now.

On a side note besides all the repeating, during Buzzr Time Machine on Sat 7/4, an episode of Password Plus will be airing on Buzzr for the first time.

Family Feud wasn't a repeat yesterday, but they went back to Giles vs. Tack this morning.

This is pretty confusing. They're definitely repeating a lot. Super Password premiere was on three weeks ago and is on again now.

Maybe they will rerun a certain amount of episodes per month and go through more episodes over subsequent months?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

I noticed this reply to an unrelated post on their Facebook page. Not sure if anything can or should be read into it:

"Thanks! More retro-cool episodes coming soon to BUZZR. Stay tuned!"

A few posts were on their page this morning and afternoon wondering about the repeats, but most if not all have been removed.

A few years ago, a radio station in my area switched formats from Mainstream Rock to a Soft AC Oldies format and for the first few months they played the same 100 or so songs over and over again (I'm assuming for the dial flippers). As time went on, more tunes were eventually added to the playlist. My hypothesis is that what BUZZR is presently doing is no different.

I will add this speculation from the perspective of someone who is in the day-to-day drudgery of a TV station:

Considering the fact that you have a library of thousands of game shows you have to catalog, ingest to playout server, and then segment the programs for air (which would have to be done manually as opposed to auto-segmenting),  I would say they're having a heck of a time staying ahead of the curve.

Maybe they're behind and the most logical thing to do to give them more lead time was to go back to the beginning and run what they already have again until they can get ahead on their workflow.  I don't think it's anything to be worried about at this juncture.

The flip side to this point is:  Why couldn't they hire more bodies to do said work?  (My answer to that is cost, as is the answer to most things.)

They should really get out of that habit fast. Searching BUZZR on Twitter finds several results with folks asking about the replays. They can't delete those posts..

I'm going to believe NicholasM79 for now so I stop fretting over this. The same Match Game episode is better than 100 episodes of 2 Broke Girls.

I posted on their FB: "We just saw todays episodes a few weeks ago, what gives?"

It took a day but, before they deleted the whole conversation, posted: "Keep an eye out! More of your favorite games shows coming soon to BUZZR."

I emailed my press contact again. She said to expect reruns from time to time, but there will be plenty of "new" episodes as well, whatever that means. She also said they're planning some kind of stunt programming on the 4th of July that she's going to send out a press release on next week.
