Something that wasn't dwelt upon in the first episode: in the Freefall round a team doesn't go into negative numbers like on Jeopardy. If a team gets one wrong worth more than in their bank, they reset to $0, further watering down the difficulty and risk involved, which is moderately disappointing.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

More to the point, increasing the chances of getting out of that round, which is kinda important to getting one contestant team through the whole hour.

Never going below $0 also prevents them from playing the automatic red balls at the start of each round, which struck me after episode 1 as the obvious solution to keeping the game from ending on a huge downer. IMHO, the tension of wondering whether a team is going to make it out of the red is preferable to "Here's a life-changing sum of free money, but we might take it back from you." Episode 2 ended up feeling like a bait and switch for pretty much that exact reason.
"It's for £50,000. If you want to, you may remove your trousers."

I think it's becoming increasingly clear after watching three episodes that A) using the Triple Up in the last round is a sucker bet, and 2) nobody is ever going to sign that contract.

They showed the Brinks truck right outside. I assume that as soon as the family got to see what that much money looked like in real life, it went right back in the truck and they received their winnings via check.

There was a missed sponsorship opportunity there.  LeBron even called it a "Brinks truck", but the video clearly showed a Dunbar armored truck.  Granted, it was only a Facebook video, but it still got some clicks.

Well, he's used to his paycheck deliveries.

The show that aired on 1/10 has proven Statement 2 to be wrong.

Abomination is a bit harsh.

Like I said on social media today, there's still too much easy money flying around, but I'm enjoying it more when I watch it using my fast-forward on DVR to get through the dull spots and sob stories.

Abomination is a bit harsh.

I agree.  Not everything is the absolute worst or the absolute best thing in the world.  This thing is badly, badly flawed, but it's no Thousand Dollar Bee.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

Hey, don't be so hard on him over "abomination."  Words can be tricky.

OK, maybe it was a bit harsh.  I still didn't enjoy it.
