The Game Shows of Triskelion
« on: September 13, 2016, 08:22:41 PM »
Over the weekend, BBC America had a marathon of the first two seasons of the original Star Trek, which includes "The Gamesters of Triskelion". The planet's original inhabitants now kidnap people from throughout the galaxy, force them to play various games and bet on the outcomes. I had the idea for a sketch, "The Game Shows of Triskelion".

In the actual episode, the beings referred to themselves only as Provider 1, 2, and 3. Mine would be named Goodson, Monty and Griffin.
  • In round 1, Chekov fails at TPIR because the Federation no longer uses money.
  • In round 2, Uhura survives on Press Your luck but doesn't win. Another contestant isn't so fortunate. His whammy is turned into a cube of dust and crushed, and he suffers the same fate.
  • In round 3, Kirk has to convey six subjects to Chekov. He cruises until he gets to the top category, THINGS YOU BLESS. He says, "The bless--" When he gets buzzed, he picks up his seat and smashes one of the beams that create the force field that's keeping them on stage, and they escape.
Protecting idiots from themselves just leads to more idiots.

I wager 100 quatloos that the distributors don't pick this one up.
