Alex Trebek: I get hit on by 80-year-olds
« on: January 24, 2019, 05:06:14 AM »
New York Post paraphrases a People blurb and doesn't link to it

(They link to the front page of people.com, but not to the article itself, as far as I can tell.)

Quote
“I’ve always referred to myself as a second- or third-tier celebrity. I’m not George Clooney,” he quipped. “I’m considered more of an extended family member because you get used to seeing me in your home every night. So when people pass me on the street, it’s more like, ‘Hi, how are you?’ and not like, ‘Oh my God, can I get your autograph?’ I also have a lot of women in their 70s and 80s who tell me, ‘You’re hot.’”

I like how the sidebar has an algorithmic link to the old article suggesting Trebek might retire in 2020, while the article says he's staying through his contract in 2022.

And I would have thought the groupies were more interested in Johnny Gilbert than Alex.  ;-)
