On The Who, What, or Where Game, if two or all three players wagered the same amount on the same question during regular gameplay, it would be put up for auction to break the tie. Was this also the practice during the Pot Limit round? And if so, is there any evidence that this did indeed happen at some point in the run?

IIRC, the auction rule did apply for "Pot Limit" as well as the main game.
