"Pyramid" reruns question
« on: June 27, 2016, 11:02:33 AM »
So I'm watching Strahan's $100,000 Pyramid again (I'm already looking forward to next Sunday) and it made me wonder how long the Dick Clark versions of the show have played in reruns on cable. Between USA & GSN, it feels like they've been on forever. Then again, you know you got a heck of a show when even in repeats they still seem fresh.

Here's my question: I believe USA started playing $25,000 Pyramid reruns back in '89. Besides a period from 1995-1997 and May-June 2016, has there ever been a time when Pyramid reruns have NOT been on cable?

(I know this a bit of a "geekish" question, but...I feel like I'm in the right place to ask it :-)).

I wanna say there have definitely been a few "breaks" during GSN's airing of the show. Somewhere in the mid-2000s, but I'm guessing here.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

My trusty copy of the GSE states $25k reruns started in 1988.  I do seem to recall Brandon's memory--I want to say it was around the time they were showing programs almost exclusively from the Goodson-Todman library; with gems such as Trivia Trap and Monty's time as host of Beat the Clock on the schedule.

The first cable reruns were on CBN when they showed "$50,000 Pryamid" circa 1982.  "Chain Reaction" reruns supplanted it when the CBS revival started.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
