$ale of the Century's run on GSN
« on: August 03, 2016, 03:35:45 PM »
Forgive me for asking but how far into $ale of the Century did GSN get to?

On Youtube there is an episode in which Jim says that it was next to the last episode from the NBC version and I don't recall GSN getting that far into the series unless it was before the time I got cable a few years ago and I started watching the show during a second run/repeat of the series. I thought GSN only showed the full season 1 SYN episodes and got into some of (what was season 2 SYN) episodes.

Uploader "Whammy All New Press Your Luck" has it posted featuring contestants (John/Gina/Ted) which was what triggered the question.

Thanks!

GSN's first batch of Sale was in April 2013, approximately the last 65 episodes of the daytime version, starting in the middle of True Romance week. They ran that a couple of times, then in November 2013 they picked up the first batch of season one syndicated, episodes 1 through 68. That was run another time or two, then they aired the rest of season one and some of season two around September 2014, going through episode 196 and promptly removing it from the schedule in March 2015.

Thanks chad1m!

So what exactly is the episode status of $ale? All intact, majority intact/missing? I recall USA Network skipping episodes (or seasons) for that matter.

Thanks.

According to former Grundy employee Mitt Dawson, Reg Grundy Productions only held on to the last six months of the NBC series. Not exactly sure why.

:-*Mitt also said that the masters for the music cues used on the show were destroyed but they somehow turned up at TVPMM not too long ago. So I have had to take anything he said while he was still with us with a grain of salt afterwards.
