When i first saw American Gladiators in 1989, it was late at night, before ABC's late night newscast on weekends(it was on the ABC affiliate), i thought the show looked corny to say the least. But when they got rid of Joe Theismann, got the more modern look to the show, and added the Wall, it was a much better show. I'm saying anything bad about Theismann, i thought he did a decent hosting job, but Mike Adamle the better host for sure. Once they got Csonka the show just got better and better. When i saw the reruns on ESPN Classic in 07, i was reminded how good the show was once they got Csonka.
