Big Fan with Andy Richter starts on ABC Jan. 9

This show was a fun, enjoyable way to waist a half-hour.  Andy was just as enjoyable here as he has been everywhere else he's ever been, that's a huge plus in my book.

Shame it's only four shows, but oh well. :-)

Still quite a leap to say that was the reason Andy took the gig, seeing as how Andy has taken many other gigs, including a time-consuming sitcom, while Conan's daily sideman.

Andy left "Late Night" in 2000, so he didn't have any talk-show conflicts during the runs of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," "Quintuplets," and "Andy Barker, P.I."

Following the wild success of those sitcoms, he took the occasion of "The Tonight Show" to go back to Conan's side.

(Hey, maybe I should send in a video in case they ever do an Andy Richter episode of "Big Fan"...)
