The station I usually listen to in the mornings (WTSS in the Western New York state area) always has some sort of musical bed when they're between songs, during the weather, traffic or "popculture" segments. These segments rarely last more than 2 minutes but sometimes a game show theme will be played in the background. Most often recently, when a game show theme does pop up it's usually been The $10,000 Pyramid theme. Friday morning they actually had The New Treasure Hunt theme in the background, which they've used once or twice before. This time, half-way through the segment the DJ commented on it:
He said "this is the hokiest music we've ever used. It's the theme for The Newlywed Game - you've just won a washer-dryer from 1974" - and then continued with the segment.
I was thinking that I could have e-mailed him to tell him what it really was, but I just left it. Even though it was the wrong show, at least it was the right production company!
I thought it the whole thing was kind of amusing.
Carry on.
