Aussie $ale CD-Rom
« on: January 28, 2017, 08:58:11 AM »
Hey guys, I have a question to ask the forum.  I've been watching some Australian episodes of sale of the century, and I was wondering. Has anybody here played the cd ROM game that was released in Australia in the 1990s? The only reason why I'm asking is I've been trying to find the 1990s theme from $ale, and I was wondering if it was on the CD ROM.  Curiously, I can find no information about this game anywhere online. So any information I could get would be most appreciated

Thanks!

I bought a copy off eBay close to 20 years ago from an Aussie seller.  From what I remember, the theme is not complete and is just a short snippet that fades out early on.  Unfortunately, I can't help you out immediately as that CD is somewhere in a moving box in the basement.  Since I'm doing work in the basement over the next month or two, I'll keep an eye out for it.

I remember hearing somewhere that there is no bonus round and that it requires the external buzzer device to play.

I'm surprised this is the only video game that the show came out with despite spending so many years as a popular show.
Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

IIRC, there was also a port of Hopp oder Top on the C64.

Apparently, Imagination Games had planned on a DVD game version of Temptation--The New SOTC for the US market around the time the short-lived revival aired.  It was supposed to have remote signaling devices, and featured host Rossi Moreali's photo on the package cover.  I'd seen a picture of it on the company's MySpace page, which has since been removed.
