Yeah, that caught me by surprise as well.  I think the only way that would be allowed is if they specifically told the contestants as part of the rules that the million-dollar bonus puzzle was chosen from a different, harder set.  And if they had been telling contestants that for a few years, we WOULD have heard about it by now.

Fair enough; I thought we went over that a while ago and did in fact hear about it. I am happy to sit corrected.

Unsurprisingly, tonight's choice of bonus round categories were completely different than last night's. My presumption is that each week has its own complete set of 15 bonus puzzles and that the 10 that don't get used get put back in the pile for potential use at a later date. I also suspect that you still may have a category show up 2 or 3 times in a week, but be different puzzles (not that we'll notice). If the staff can do 15 unique categories for a week, that's pretty hardcore.

I would love for them to do something like Person-Place-Thing as the choices, just once.
