On The $25,000 Pyramid, they used to dis Wheel all the time when it was over on NBC, until one day one of their rotating announcers fought back and said "You don't know Jack, Clark!"

That must have been the reason for the shots on social media with the Free Spin space and the eggcrate displays. (Fresh Off the Boat is set in the mid to late 90s.)

Entertainment Weekly had a photo of the FOTB cast with the eggcrate displays  during their Fall Preview Issue.

It was what it was- Wheel of Fortune with the 97 music and eggcrate scoring. Funny enough though- unlike many other game show episodes that revolve around which character will win, this one didn’t, so the special scoreboards really didn’t serve any purpose.

Also, they tried to give Pat and Vanna passive- aggressive workplace humor jokes that fell flat. If you’re not already watching the show, no use to circle back to this episode.
