Wink and Alfonso Ribeiro promote new McD's promotion
« on: January 06, 2018, 02:20:47 PM »
Apparently, McDonald's is rolling out a
next week (January 10, to be exact), related to their "1-2-3 Dollar Menu".

The promo video resembles a stereotypical 70s game show, and features Wink Martindale and Alfonso Ribeiro. To win, you snap a selfie and tag the Twitter or Instagram account. It looks like Facebook Live is getting in on the action too with some sort of "game show". The video is pretty cheesy, as you might expect.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

1-2-3 That's A Meal! McDonalds Special
« Reply #1 on: January 11, 2018, 04:16:56 PM »
Anyone seen this game show special on Facebook Live?  Apparently, it was to promote their new 1-2-3 Dollar Menu.  Alfonso Ribiero was the host, and Wink Martindale was the announcer.  You can see the show here:

Here's some info about the games they played:
In the first game, contestants need to hop to the giant Happy Meal and put giant dollars in the box.  Person with the lowest score is eliminated.

In the second game, a McChicken was shown, followed by a series of other 1-2-3 Dollar Menu items.  Contestants need to buzz in and give the price of the combined items.  Again, person with the lowest score is eliminated.

In the last game, a giant wheel was taken out with all the 1-2-3 Dollar Menu items on it.  The goal was to get as close to $5 as you can without going over.  After each person's first spin, the person with lowest score gets to spin first the second time. Both of them tied, so the first person spun first in the second round.   In the second round, you may spin as much as you'd like until you stop on your total or go over. The first guy got to $4 and stopped.  The other also had $4, but decided to risk it and spin again.  He lost.

The grand prize was 10 years worth of McDonalds food.

There were also prizes for the home audience:  As long as you made just one comment on the Facebook Live stream, you received an entry to win one of 25 McDonalds gift cards worth $123.

Also, there is a mention of taking a selfie with one of the menu items and putting in a couple hashtags on Twitter or Instagram for a chance to win some really nice prizes.

What are your thoughts of the show?
