Identifing Question
« on: February 03, 2004, 09:53:50 PM »
I've used this term many a time while cataloging my collection. Though I'm not always sure if I'm using it right.

So my question is: What contitutes a "General ep."

Thanks for any assistance

A "general episode" would signify an episode of a particularly on which nothing terribly noteworthy, gameplay or otherwise, occurs. It's up to the person doing the tape trading list to decide what would constitute classifying an episode as a "general episode" or to give a synopsis of something noteworthy that occurred in the episode.

Me not being a trader, wouldn't that simply be an episode of a show that just plays a regular game between the civilian players, and there's nothing notable or significant, like a celebrity week or tournament of champs, or a special military episode?
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

A "General Ep" is a show that have no errors, no big wins, no crazy quips from celebrities/contestants.  A basic show...

For example...TPiR...5 out of 6, no $10K from Showcase Showdown...General ep.
Yolanda's breast exposure or Vanna White as a contestant...quote it...

Here's another case:

J!:  A new champ wins $20,000 after dethroning a 1-day champ=General ep.
     A new champ knocks off a 7-day champ=Memorable ep.
