Netflix and Chill for $400?
« on: October 29, 2018, 11:17:43 PM »
Starting tomorrow, 45 "hand-picked" episodes of Jeopardy! head to Netflix.

Quote
The Netflix cache of Jeopardy episodes will focus on two themed collections of episodes, a company spokesperson confirmed in an email. The show's recurring "Tournament of Champions" competition and one-time "Battle of the Decades" will both be featured.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Sounds like it's going to be some of the same ones that are already on Hulu.

EDIT: My suspicions were correct and they are all ones that were already on Hulu.

Also on Netflix UK, interestingly.

After the success of Bake-Off on Netflix in the US, Netflix brought the show over as a Netflix Original, taking it away from PBS.

Maybe Netflix UK can do something similar with Jeopardy! in the UK. That'd be a long shot but it'd be amazing.

I was thinking Ken Jennings’s first and last episodes, the Super Jeopardy! finals from 1990, the 2000 Tournament of Champions finals from Atlanta (the only time Jeopardy! ever did a ToC on the road), the 4,000th episode from 2002, and a couple of Celebrity episodes would be among the 45.

According to the show's Twitter, a few tournaments are also headed to Netflix next month.

A friend of mine who is no game show fan to the degree I am has been watching Jeopardy while he recuperates from ankle surgery. I tried to hide my delight but don't think I succeeded.

Today, the Netflix selection of Jeopardy! episodes has been refreshed. Along with the 2011 Watson episodes and the 2013 Teen Tournament, this collection has almost every season premiere from 1984 to 2015. Perhaps the most exciting part is that the episode listed as “season 1” is actually the 1984 pilot!
