We'll it is looking like I will be missing this tonight.  We are having tornadoes in Alabama, so we have continuous weather coverage.  Maybe it will be re-aired at some point.

For this version it is. Has any incarnation of Pyramid figured in a primetime episode(by that, I mean taped on the actual set of the show)? I can't recall any. IIRC the 1986 Cardinal Pyramid home game was part of a scene of both Hogan Family and Mama's Family.

The closest I can think of would be two cartoon parodies...one was on "Muppet Babies," but I think an even closer one would be from "The Simpsons," when Santa's Little Helper "won" $100,000 for his partner. That one aired last season.

Tuesday night at 8 soon enough for you?  NBC moved the supersize eps of Will & Grace and Scrubs that were scheduled for 2/5 over to 2/10 to make room for the 74-minute "Apprentice", so to fill that extra 10 minutes they'vedecided on a near-instant rerun.

It's not a scripted series, but the "Jamie Kennedy Experiment" did a "Pyramid" contestant stunt last season on the set with Donny present and accounted for.

Par chance... does anyone have that JKX episode and could encode it?  I don't get it here (there are no WB affiliates in Newfoundland... surprising, that...) and would like to see what happened in the X-ing.

Cheers,

Ryan :)

You know i just remebered something. i remember seeing a pyramid sketch i saw maybe 5-6 years ago. I dont remember what show it was but the segment was called the $25 dollar pyramid. The fake winner circle boards resembled the 80's version.

Anyone else remeber this and could tell me what show it came from?

Leno? They've done a number of Pyramid parodies over the years...three that come to mind are Presidential Pyramid, The 2,500 Year-Old Pyramid (with a Dick Clark cameo), and The $25 Trapezoid.

Add to these a sketch on Living Color where the Brothers brothers were the celebs.

There's also "Jackie Rogers, Jr.'s $100,000 Jackpot Wad", a sketch performed on SNL in the 1984-85 season.  The game according to "Jackie" (Martin Short) was "...like Pyramid, only different."  Check out the "chocolate babies" moment.  That was a moment inspired by someone that knows the show.

Additionally, I remember an in-house video segment produced by ABC News on the topic of inflation.  The video, titled "The $70,000 Pyramid" was taped on the Pyramid set at the old Elysee Theater.  I think Peter Jennings or Ted Koppel moderated the piece.

It sounds to me like the answer to the very specific version of your question is no.

It was a full half hour, pre-empting Pyramid in its normal daytime slot.  The late Max Robinson was the host, and it was preceded by Dick in a pre-taped piece telling America that Pyramid would return the next day.  There were news-style packages and live talk in the special.  The six elements of inflation that were discussed were recapped by turning the trilons on the big board, and there they were!  At the end Max said if we don't stop inflation, in a couple years, the $20,000 Pyramid will become the $70,000 Pyramid.  Complete with a new dollar sign at the top of the big board.  Truly bizarre.

Bri:

I never knew the "$70,000 Pyramid" aired as an ABC News Special.  Do you have a copy of it?  Does anyone know if it is available on the trading circuit?
