Today is on this date exactly 30 years ago was a sad day in NBC game shows history when both $ale of the Century and Super Password aired their final episodes at 10:00 AM and 12 Noon :(. Then on the following Scrabble took over the 10:00 AM time slot (going up against the Ray Combs version of Family Feud on CBS), NBC gave the 12 Noon time slot back to their local affiliates and a new soap opera called: Generations took over Scrabble's old time slot.

On the final episodes of both shows their mini bonus rounds (In$tant Ca$h for $OTC and Ca$hword for SP were lost. But their primary bonus rounds (Winner's Big Money Game for $OTC and the Super Password end game for SP were won :).

To me, the cancelation of $ale of the Century pretty much started the downfall of NBC daytime...up till they canceled Another World(soap opera) in 1999. In those 10 years, NBC daytime had virtually went downhill.
