I haven't been following the recent Pyramid so I was a little confused about how give-receive roles work now. Does the contestant now always give in rounds 1 and 3 or is there still the option and it just gets cut for time?

As per this contestant's post, they're still giving the option for the third round but editing it out.

Neat. I do think for this version of the show, I like the contestants giving in round 1.

Seems like a little briefing, and they wouldn't even have to edit.

"Okay guys, when it's your turn in round 3, put the monitor where you want it and pick your category."
