TTTT with Weird Al Yankovic
« on: August 18, 2019, 08:11:19 AM »
Anyone that's a fan of Battlestar Galactica should've immediately recognized actress Anne Lockhart as one of the imposters. I am surprised Weird Al didn't know who she was too, and he seems to be the type that would watch that show. The 1978 run of Battlestar Galactica only ran for one season. Anne Lockhart didn't appear in the series until episode 13, and apparently it was originally a guest star shot. However, the producers thought her character would add a lot to the show, so she was immediately made a regular. The ratings were fine, but nonetheless the show was cancelled. There were enough fans to persuade a new series called "Battlestar 1980", but all but Lorne Greene had moved on to other things and were not available, so Lorne was the only returning cast member, and it was a total bomb. Anne had since done mostly voiceover roles and guest shots on a fair number of shows. If you want to see Anne in a more... uh... daring role, look up the movie Joyride on YouTube. This movie was made not long before Anne got her role in Battlestar Galactica. Joyride is a horrible movie, but there is a hot tub scene featuring her also featuring a young Melanie Griffith. You can thank me later.

I kind of meant it as a joke. Let's just say that the hot tub scene is worth watching if you want to see two ladies that were quite hot in the late 70s. (I'm not saying Anne doesn't look good now... I think she looks great!) Anne Lockhart didn't really have any other regular roles in a series besides Battlestar Galactica, but if anyone would want to see any of her other work, she was on Knight Rider and The Incredible Hulk twice in different roles, and she was also in one of the Emergency TV movies that were made after the series itself had ended.

To turn this back to game shows, here's her appearance on All Star Secrets.

Does anyone else feel like you came in on page three of a thread?
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

So it wasn’t just me. I thought I was still jet lagged for a minute. :P

A couple of oddities I noticed with this episode...

The guy that wrote "Like a Virgin", there was a piano on the stage but it doesn't get used. Did ABC have some issues with the rights and edit out the song?

For the pairs that were hitting partners for Serena and Venus Williams, Anthony did not introduce the pair #1 when it came time to find out who the impostors were. Did nobody notice this mistake, or was that also edited out for some reason?

Considering that the show went to commercial on a shot of Anthony greeting couple #1 before finding out who they were, I would assume that it wasn't an editing error.

I also noticed that this thread definitely belongs in the Show Summaries section.

I wasn't sure where to put it since I wasn't summarizing the whole show, just a segment of it.

You summarize, you put it in the right spot. Come on now.
