I am late starting to watch this series - was yesterday the first $30K Super Match bomb out that this run has shown?

It is the second. The first $30,000 loss was #45, Jan. 3, 1984. That was the last episode in Buzzr's first batch of shows.

The same contestant found the 30 again the next day, but only played for $7,500...he lost that too.

Is this the older black gentleman who won for five days, but seemed to fall short at the Super Match? On his 3rd or 4th episode, he had a gimme with Jon Bauman, which Jon fumbled.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

That would be him, yep. The $30K loss was his final day. I felt really bad for him; it would have been cool to see him end his run with a gigantic win, but sadly it was not to be.

Prefacing the Super Match was quite possibly the closest game of Hollywood Squares that I'd ever seen on that show.

This pretty much offers stats on the SM's so far in general: https://markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/The_Match_Game-Hollywood_Squares_Hour/Episode_Guide
I'm a pacifist, and even I would like to see a little more action.

Got here for the HS segment...we are at the Super Match...Gene sounds a bit under the weather...

Toni (the champ of the last 2 episodes) is just so likeable.
