"Family Fortunes" returning to UK
« on: July 01, 2020, 02:11:27 PM »
A few weeks after announcing the re-launch of "The Cube," Britain's ITV says it will also bring back "Family Fortunes" (UK Family Feud), with new episodes being recorded later this year.

The host for the new Family Fortunes is Gino D'Acampo, an Italian-born celebrity chef and TV food personality. Per Wikipedia, he also served two years in prison back in the 90s for breaking into singer Paul Young's home, stealing guitars and a platinum record.

Perhaps they could rename it Filched Fortunes.

Gino is a morning tv show chef, and from the looks of it, his accent and minimal understanding of British slang and sayings are often played up for laughs- I'm guessing they're hoping Steve's "Fish out of water" success in Africa will translate in England as well.
Fun Fact To Make You Feel Old: Syndicated Jeopeardy has allowed champs to play until they lose longer than they've retired them after five days.

He hosted two series of Win Your Wish List on Channel 5 in the last few years which were quite good fun (amusingly it only really worked on it because he doesn't have to read out the questions) and has been a team captain on anarchic ITV2 panel show Celebrity Juice. He's quite popular as a TV chef.
