One thing I noticed is there's very little policing of the use of the name for trivia nights, radio contests, and homemade Youtube games. That may change now, but the owners of the format certainly kept the title circulating around which is in a very small part helping their name recognition.
In fact, their .com site has Youtube embeds from VHS uploads, so they are using it to their advantage. I had registered the .tv domain long ago when it looked like they lost control of the .com. Within the last year or so, they actually have some content there now, and probably paid a ransom sum to get the domain back. The focus has been on the international properties, so it looks like a lot slid by on the domestic side.
