Super Millionaire set
« on: February 20, 2004, 03:12:25 PM »
I have recently found out that the Super Millionaire set WILL be unveiled tonight on Entertainment Tonight.  Now i hate this show, but ill watch it this one time to see the set.  There is a video on the ET website, but it turned out weird for me.  The set looks a hell of a lot better.

Sure does! I could see the video just fine, and it's a damn good looking set...it looks like they have addressed the complaints people had with the Fastest Finger terminals being chintzy, and there are stairs leading up to the audience bleachers that have the "new WOF" lighting system installed in 'em.

Good stuff. Sunday night is gonna be fun. :)

In addition to Super Millionaire (which I'm psyced about!!), the set should hopefully stay the same for the next season of Syndie Millionaire.

Look forward to seeing what I can't participate in :)

And slightly OT:
Just out of curiosity... does anyone get ET any earlier than 5.30 EST? Or get Wheel before 4 pm?  Our local station, NTV, ("Canada's superstation") trumpets each of their episodes as "World Television Premiers" and they're quite happy about that.

Cheers,

Ryan :)

Saw the video, and I have to say: The Fastest Finger terminals remind of those at the Play-It! attraction. They move! The Hot Seat looks like that of Meredith's version.

And the lighting? NEATO!

Thanks to their time zone, no doubt (90 minutes later than Eastern Time). Of course, I heard that even repeats on NTV often get the "World Television Premiere" treatment.

And of course, there's the eccentric programming that often appears in late-night, but that's another story.

And sure enough, the symbol for the Three Wise Men is a mortarboard. Figures.

I do love the improved Fastest Finger terminal. I think we may see the times actually pick up or someone will break the console by smacking the buttons with their hand (probably me if I ever get on).

Is it in the "Blue Oval" shape like the traditional 3 lifelines, and if it's used, will the little red "X" appear on it, like it would for the traditional 3?

Also, I can picture that 3WM lifeline right now. It looks like the one used for "Ask The Experts" on "Who Wants To Be A Cyber-Millionaire," the version hosted by Chico Alexander, Dave Adams, and Tom Sabbatelli.

Yeah, it's just in the 4th position. i.e. The 3 originals are on top and the other two are on the bottom. Like so:

50:50  PAF  ATA
   TWM     DD

No idea what the Double Dip one will actually turn out to be, but I'm guessing either DD or Double Dip in smushed letter.

That new moneytree looked awesome, tho. Like I said, it's all the zeroes that just are dandy.

I can't wait for Sunday too, this is going to be great. Who knows this may start the game show revolution again and NBC will bring back Twenty-one. I can always hope can't I.  :)

"ET" is first fed over the satellite at 4:00 Eastern, so if anyone's earlier than that, they're not much earlier.

("WOF" is fed two days in advance.)

It should be the same studio with changes
