It has been officially announced (after months of rumours) that a new series of "Letters And Numbers" (based on the UK "Countdown") will premiere in October - featuring celebrities rather than civilians contestants (probably as a result of current Covid restrictions). Whilst there will be a new host - comedian Michael Hing (replacing veteran newsreader Richard Morecroft), resident mathematician Lily Serna and "Dictionary Corner" David Astle will make a triumphant return to the screens after a 9 year hiatus. I would expect the weekly, one hour episodes will play out similarly to the "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" format in the UK. There will be 12 episodes, playing out of a Saturday evening. They have already announced a second season for 2022, which (I hope) will return to standard civilian game play of a 5 nights-a-week, half hourly format, as of days of old.
Has a real cult following here in Australia, and will hopefully be well received in its new reincarnation.
