Longshot/Mystery Show Identification
« on: June 08, 2021, 07:40:10 PM »
A friend of mine was discussing a show they remembered from childhood, but couldn't identify it.   Based on the description she gave me, I thought it was the '84 version of NTT and showed her a clip, but she thinks it was something else.  Its also not the Clark version of Pyramid.  These are the qualifiers:
  • Black and orange set
  • Aired around 1990, most likely in reruns
  • Podium that resembled a pommel horse
I couldn't think of any shows that fit this criteria.  I figured if anyone had any ideas, this would be the group.  Thanks in advance for the help!

Trump Card had an orange-ish and black set, could that have been it?

Chain Reaction
TTTT 90
Hot Potato
TJW 90

ETA: I know Mark mentioned a pommelhorse-like podium...but those shows at least had a little bit of orange in their sets.

My original thought was Trump Card, but TTD '90 is also possibly coming to mind (less likely IMO because of whites around the set).  But, between the two, I'd pick Trump Card.

Face The Music, maybe? Lot of Earth-tones there, it bore some similarities to NTT '84, and USA did rerun it somewhere around 1990.

Thank you for this suggestion.  After sending clips and snaps, she believes it was TTD '90.  That show never crossed my mind.  I'll send some better shows to watch, stat.
