If anybody knows, did Stephen return during pre-Celebrity Whew!?  We're about 3 weeks from the non-celebrity show, which doesn't sound like a lot of turnaround time for somebody who did that to his knee, especially given how girthy he was.

When they do go over to the Celebs, did they change immediately to the “sweep boards 1&2 and you Charge board 3 against a random Villain Block pattern” so the games wouldn’t straddle?

I'm pretty sure he ran the gauntlet all by his lonesome.

No.  It still straddled until late in the run.  As soon as they knew they were cancelled, they put that rule in to make sure they ended with a complete game and gauntlet attempt.  I'd say probably about four weeks from the end.

Sounds about right... just checked my archives, and April 8 (Trish Stewart & Jamie Farr) still allows for straddling. By May 20 (Mary Ann Mobley & Gary Collins), the bonus Game 3 was in place.

And I thought that story was an urban legend. WOW.

Does this mean in 20 years there'll be a podcast about it?

Maybe I'm wrong, but Stephen's opponent was introduced as Greg Itzin, who had recently moved to California from his home in Wisconsin and was getting married in three weeks.

Was that Greg Itzin, the actor who played President Logan on "24" and multiple roles on various Star Trek series?  The IMDB bio seems to align nicely, but I can't convince myself it's the same guy.

His Wiki says he moved to Burlington, Wisconsin in sixth grade. I can't imagine it being that common of a name in Wisconsin. Got a screenshot? Never mind. I just saw one. I see the resemblance.

One other thing- Is that a record for a successfully completed Charge? He did it in 44 seconds…

Loved Tom’s commentary: “Remember this-whoever loses, I’m not responsible, OK?”

It is not a record, Nancy Langton (sp?) in episode 115 completed her charge in 42 seconds

Wasn't there a brief period during Celebrity Whew! during which the show reverted to single players? Maybe he returned then.

I'm dense....what is this a reference to?
I'm a pacifist, and even I would like to see a little more action.

It sounded off a few episodes before too.

According to Zap2it, Whew! is going to return to the first episode on Thursday, November 18. This lines up with the remaining pre-celebrity episodes, assuming 127 is skipped by virtue of it having run already.

Here is my speculation of what's coming up:
122 (Olivia vs. Gauntlet): Wed 11/3
123: Thu 11/4
124: Fri 11/5
125: Mon 11/8
126: Tue 11/9
127 (Carolyn vs. Gauntlet; Carolyn vs. Hugh): skipped
128: Wed 11/10
129: Thu 11/11
130: Fri 11/12
131 (Michael vs. Tammy): Mon 11/15
132 (Tammy vs. Sherry): Tue 11/16
133 (Tammy vs. Steven, last pre-celebrity episode): Wed 11/17
