There's a video game that's been out for a few years now called Trivial Pursuit Live that's essentially a Trivial Pursuit game show.  Four players, the six classic categories and a few different question styles.  Each correct answer earns points with certain point milestones earning a wedge.  The final round is a series of dis or dats, one for each category.  Last person standing in each category earns a wedge and the first player to fill their pie wins.  They honestly could just adapt that into a real game show and it would be a pretty fun watch.

+1 - This could be done in the right hands.

Alex certainly likes his precious adjectives, that’s for sure. I don’t think Trivial Pursuit has been done correctly as a game show—Wink’s version was closest.

TP: America Plays had an interesting idea, but the wrong host. The '87 pilot had the wrong format. ESPN's version should have never seen the light of day. Never got to see John Ricci's version when he had the rights. Wink's version was a good watch. Honestly didn't need the interactive game.

I agree as well.  That game is a lot of fun and IMO, it could be easily adapted into an actual game show.

Without question. Just watched a video of the game and I can't agree more. That could easily be adapted into TV. It doesn't even need a bonus round.

Adding it here as it's much easier to follow along.

Deadline recently posted an interview with eOne's Head of Television, Michael Lombardo. While it appears the interview was done before the LeVar Burton/"Trivial Pursuit" announcement was made, Lombardo mentioned that eOne is currently working on a host of "really big, bold game shows," including a new "Monopoly" game show for CBS ...

Lombardo mentioned that, not including "Mouse Trap" for Fox and the Play-Doh show for Amazon/IMDB (which Lombardo described as more "unscripted competition" than "game"), there are four game shows in "various stages of development." I presume Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Uno (which was discussed a while back) are three of the four.

While Uno is in development as a game show, it's a Mattel game, so that wouldn't be one of the four game shows being referred to in the article about Hasbro.

"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!
