LMAD: trade a zonk during the show?
« on: April 18, 2022, 09:22:50 AM »
Wondering how often it would happen where Monty would give the trader(s) an opportunity to trade the zonk they'd just received for something else?  On one of the eps of LMAD Canadian-style the couple had a can of spray starch (which ended up having money under the cap) which they traded for an unknown behind the curtain ("imported").  Before he opened that, he offered them another curtain ("domestic") which they turned down--unfortunately for them as that was hiding a car.  He has them open the "imported" curtain and shows them what they kept, which ended up being a llama.  Where it gets interesting is there's the third curtain ("big risk") which he then offers them in trade for the llama (well, duh of course--"we don't have room for that") which ends up being a bunch of appliances.  Was this a case of him doing the deal (reveal) wrong, their needing to make sure to get the plug for the appliances in, or something else?

I’ve seen that episode, and I’m pretty sure that the llama was NOT supposed to be revealed. It was hard to tell whether it was an error on the crew’s account or if Monty erred.

Speaking completely ex rectum, I would guess they had the labels on the wrong curtains and it was too late to go back and fix it by the time anyone noticed (which was probably when they revealed the llama).
