Wheel of Fortune Live! stage show
« on: May 17, 2022, 11:22:43 AM »

Anyone here familiar with what seems to be a new stage show similar to TPIR Live? My local casino just advertised Wheel of Fortune Live! with tickets on sale soon for two dates in December.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Who will be the host?
Hosts are familiar television and media personalities. Check your local theater for announcement information at a future date.

Sounds like the lady and I might have to make a little drive to Richmond in September and make a weekend trip out of it.

I’ve been wanting to get back down to Red Bank. Now I kinda sorta have an excuse.

And the Basie Theater is literally a couple blocks from the train.

(And if you walk a little further up, there’s a place called Yestercades. I do recommend.)

Dang, feeling old on this one when I saw (the original???} WOF Live in Vegas sometime in the late 1990s.

Michael Burger was hosting that incarnation.

I'd attended the WOF Live Tour in 1996, when they made, what I believe was the final stop in Detroit (actually, Auburn Hills), Michigan.  The show was hosted by Bob Eubanks, and was done before the current-day electronic puzzle board was introduced.  Wonder if the traveling show will be feature high-tech stuff.

This time it will be at the Fox downtown.  Beautiful venue.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Speaking strictly ex post rectum, I would think the traveling show will have a single large rectangular screen for the puzzle board, possibly touch-sensitive.  It's probably more cost-efficient to do it that way, and certainly easier to set up and run.  It also has the advantage of making it easier to throw the current state of the board up on the building's screens without any fancy smoke and mirrors.

What are the odds that Woolery hosts one of the shows?

About as much chance as you or I hosting one of the shows.

That said, since Goen hosts Price Live, it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a shot at bat.
Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

I would suggest that this tour is being used as a testing ground for potential replacements for Pat Sajak. I would suggest that, but I used to say that about TPIR Live, and then they hired Drew Carey.

Either way, WOF Live is coming to my area in October, so hopefully I'll be able to go.

Based on their rules on their website, at least in some locations you can register to be a contestant without buying a ticket like TPIR live.
