2022-23 daytime and syndie time slots
« on: July 14, 2022, 12:57:30 PM »
It's never too early to start thinking about the fall season.

Cleveland/Akron:

WBNX-55 has 6 hours of game shows in a 7-hour span.

3-4 PM:  Family Feud
4 PM:  Pictionary (premiering September 12)
4:30-5:30 PM:  25 Words or Less
5:30 PM:  Pictionary
7-8 PM:  Family Feud
8-9 PM:  You Bet Your Life
9-10 PM:  Family Feud

Barring a drastic change, i.e., Wheel and Jeopardy! changing time slots after almost 4 decades, everything else remains the same for the 216/440/330.

A little love, please, for the 234 as well.

Not a good sign for YBYL in Austin, maybe.  FOX7 has aired it at 6:30pm since it began, but TMZ now has that time slot and Mr. Leno has been moved to 11:30pm.  Oh well, he always wanted to be on at 11:30, so he's probably happy.  #teamcoco

Honestly, that time slot makes the most sense to me, given it goes up against The Tonight Show on the East Coast.

S/O to Jason McKenney got pointing this out, but Pictionary uploaded a “Where to Watch” site.

Assuming nothing changes in Norfolk/Va. Beach:

9:30 and 10 am
25 Words, WTVZ

10 am
LMAD, WTKR

11 am
TPIR, WTKR
Pictionary, WVBT (double run)

6 pm
YBYL, WVBT

7-8 pm
Wheel/J!, WVEC
Feud, WTVZ

Last I checked, Funny You Should Ask airs somewhere in the middle of the night.

Here's maybe the side-game, which market has the most FF on the same station, in a day?  Once you hit an eighth of your broadcast day is one show, "that's too much".

Dear Lord it's like they're not even trying to get an audience on their channel. I know it's a secondary channel, but do they think viewers are this shallow to not even try to air new programming?

This is why there are 9000 channels now, there is something for everyone...except for ratings. The pie is no larger, even if there are more slices.

When I was a kid, I remember hearing about the possibility of a 500 channel universe and thinking that sounded amazing. Fast forward 30 years and I regularly having trouble finding something to watch and everyone's dropping cable because of the lack of variety. Strange times.

To WBNX's defense, it is likely that they want to keep programming cheap and simple for the moment, as IIRC, the station is looking for a new owner as Rev. Angeley has gone to the great televangelist station in the sky, and with Nexstar now the proud owners of The CW, They may need a new home for the CW as it's currently under Gray Television's WUAB/WOIO roof.  That will likely change within the year.

A helpful hint: googling the station's call letters along with the words "tv passport", you can see what's going on Monday, September 12, when most changes seem to be taking place. The only change I see is the third double run of Feud moving from the midnight hour to the 3am hour.

Also, from what the listings say, WHP inexplicably (and randomly) is showing an informercial some nights at 7pm and airing WOF overnight.

Milwaukee doesn't have much change, either. Just the addition of Pictionary and a swap at WVTV:

9:00 AM - LMAD - WDJT
10:00 AM - TPIR - WDJT
1:00 PM - Pictionary - WITI
2:00 PM & 2:30 PM* - FYSA - WVTV
3:00 PM & 3:30 PM - Feud - WVTV
4:00 PM & 4:30 PM - 25WOL - WVTV
5:00 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:00 PM & 6:30 PM - Feud - WVTV
6:00 PM - J! - WDJT
6:30 PM - WoF - WDJT
10:35 PM - YBYL - WITI

*at station discretion, may air a regular infomercial instead
