Cue tones on GSN?
« on: September 05, 2022, 08:26:12 PM »
Remember back in the day when cable channels would do a set of rapid beeps during commercials called cue tones (see below)? I’ve heard them three or four times in the last hour on YouTube TV. Anyone else notice this, particularly on another service? It’s caught me off guard because I haven’t heard that sound in at least 25 years.

"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

I've heard them within the last five years or so on Telemundo, but I always kind of wondered if they were coming through on an audio channel that the local affiliate wasn't supposed to be passing through.
"It's for £50,000. If you want to, you may remove your trousers."

Last place I heard cue tones was on RTV in 2012, during their logo bumpers before each show. I'm not sure if they used them because they genuinely needed them, or just to add to the channel's overall retro aesthetic.
