BUZZR 2023 Q1 happenings
« on: December 20, 2022, 08:24:38 PM »
I just saw an ad saying Lost and Found is returning in January.  No date given, no mention of what is planned.

Maybe they got something not in their library but couldn't air until January or something- was unusual that they didn't do anything in September...

Yeah, same initial instinct. The wishful part of me can't stop thinking that they devoted a little extra energy this year to securing the rights and digitizing a new worthwhile acquisition.
Now if it turns out to be a lineup with Choose Up Sides, Barry Gray's Winner Take All, and What's Going On, well I'll just be over at the bar  ;D

All 3 Double Dare '76 pilots

1/18
Make the Connection, Play For Keeps, Play Your Hunch

Everything gets repeated on 1/21 starting at 11AM ET.

I'm wondering if the It's News To Me episode(s) have John Daly or Walter Cronkite as host.

It's from '52, so it'd be Daly.

Not the most exciting lineup, but the 70's syndicated Beat The Clock episodes will be nice to see (I wonder why Buzzr hasn't done much with them, even though they aired on GSN back in the day- they simply haven't converted them maybe?)

They appeared to get the rights to it a few years ago, and even offered 20 episodes on Prime for a bit, late 2019 I think?
This'll be the first time it's aired on the actual network.

Think Fremantle has the format.
I'm a pacifist, and even I would like to see a little more action.

My guess is it had something to do with Fremantle keeping Strike it Lucky in production for many years in the UK after Kline & Friends ceased to be a thing.

Hey, I’ve been part of several online fan groups where industry insiders would lurk and occasionally even join in the conversation. While I don’t have any knowledge thereof, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit that there are some BUZZR staff eyeballs here.

So you may be more influential that you realized. ;)

Nice. I’ve never been a huge BtC guy, but I took a liking to Gene’s version for some reason. Glad to see it getting a little attention.

Looks like another day of gimmickry on 1/27/23 (12N - 4PM ET).  A 1981 syndie MG (ep 252), two WML? (one from 1968, the other from 1971), the "Rip rips his toupee off" ep of SP, and a 1983 FF syndie ep (non-celebs), plus a TT from 1974, a BL from 1985 and a MG76 that I believe have all aired before.

Not sure what the common thread is (normally I'd say it's a "Let's Laugh Day" marathon, but that day isn't until March).
