Three-day Jeopardy! champion Ben Chan will not appear on today or tonight's show.
St. Norbert College, the Minnesota college where he's a professor, says that he suffered an undisclosed illness prior to taping.
He will return to J! on the May 15 episode. According to
j-archive.com it was only the fourth time that the champion hadn't defended (excluding the champs who retired after winning five games).
