Fox has obtained the rights to create a U.S. version of the Dutch quiz show "The Floor," which was created in part by John de Mol of "The Voice" and "Big Brother" fame/infamy.

Based on the description, it's a quiz-based version of the board game "Risk" where 100 contestants compete in head-to-head duels to be the last contestant standing.

Considering how FOX's programming is often seen as having no bottom, I'm surprised they found The Floor.

In all seriousness, it doesn't sound terrible. I wonder how it will stay interesting over a full series.

Hmmm. This looks pretty decent on paper, but I’d have to see how it played out before I gave it a verdict.

I have a feeling the pacing is gonna suck if they have to drag the process out across ten episodes.
