...as it will be THE VERY LAST DAY of broadcast for the one, the only, the original Game Show Network! The channel will celebrate 10 years on the air by changing its name (and, slightly, its format!) to GSN one day later, on March 15!

Of course, several oldies but goodies remain on the schedule, but what with the addition of repeats of "reality shows" (shudder!!), I'm sure the public will very quickly liken New GSN to New Coke.

Well, actually...

March 15th, from 9 AM to 10 PM, the network will still be "Game Show Network".  The changeover dosen't happen until 10 that night

And I still say that you are making too big of a deal out of this.  If you don't like it, change the channel...it ain't that big of a change.

I'm guessing the public, the REAL public, won't even notice. Not only is the sky NOT falling, but we're taking about a niche channel that most of the planet doesn't even watch anyhow, and it's completely out of the radar of a LOT of folks.

We're a LOT less important than some of y'all think we are, folks.

I have been trying my best to wash my hands of the situation, but allow me to say something here.

I am a bit upset (enraged, no...upset, yes) about the changes to GSN that is soon to take place. However, it is not the end of the world to me. I have known better and I feel that we all should move on.

Besides, I have been content with tape trading for the shows I want, and it has worked. I have been trading for almost a year now, and I have enjoyed many shows that I feel may never see the light of day in reruns again ($otC, Scrabble, TPIR Classic, etc.). Again, one never knows, but hey...

My point is to just move on and enjoy life for all that it is worth. I know GSN has become another sellout channel, but I wish it luck and will go on with other, more important things.

Thanks for your time.

The change doesn't bother me much. As long as I can still record or watch what I enjoy on the channel (FF, MG, etc), that works for me. Besides that I still will get Price daily too.

For anyone that doesn't like this change, first off get over it! It's not the end of the world. And secondly, just do what I do, watch what you like, and if you don't like something, don't watch it. Change the channel or, here's an idea: Get outside in the fresh air!

I'm sorry if I sound a little angry, but I am getting sick and tired of hearing about all these complaints. You guys make it seem like it's Armageddon.

Just do what I do when something rubs me the wrong way on the  message board:  Go to another message board or turn the computer OFF.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

This story has popped up in a few places around the Web. The link courtesy of the Google news stash:

http://www.mcall.com/business/local/all-tv...sinesslocal-hed

The reporter is obviously skeptical of the new direction but gives Cronin equal time. I gotta laugh about the "regular viewing stop for millions" phrase. If GSN were drawing millions every hour, we wouldn't be seeing a makeover.

Hi everyone,

I have said this on the board before.  I still do not understand what the big deal is about this change.  They are still keeping nearly everything that is on right now.  All they are doing is adding more of a variety of shows.

Once again, I think this change is GOOD, and there is no such thing as a deathclock or anything, that's just dumb.

Couldn't get through a post without taking another shot in your little "traditionalist" war, could you?

Sigh.  Not again.

<< With this repositioning, we will be able to fulfill our vision, which is to be the leading network for interactive games, worldwide. >>

Now there's a spin I hadn't heard before.  That's what this is about?  The "interactive" stuff?  I don't believe that, not one bit. Even so, the new crap is supposed to help with that goal... how?

Obviously, Cronin sees a need to do "something" different periodically, just to get some attention.  But he's not remaking the network... he's changing one hour of programming at an hour where his viewership is probably close to zero, and changing the logo.  Big f-ing deal.

What else would you expect, Chris?

To answer melman's question:

Apparently a new, all-interactive network is in the offering to happen in the next year or two. Some rumors say that GSN will absorb the G4 network and turn that into the interactive channel, but that is just a rumor.

This is starting to sound like 1999 and the whole Y2K scare...I have a feeling some of you have already began building underground shelters which you've stocked with non-perishable foods, old game show tapes, and your computers.

And if you haven't already made your shelter, here's what you do:

1) Go to Home Depot and purchase a bunch of bricks (1,000 should do) and a shovel

2) Starting digging yourself a 12' x 12' underground shelter...line it with bricks, and leave space for a 7' x 3' door (l x w).

3) Go to Wal-Mart and buy a couple of electric generators. If your Wal-Mart has a grocery store attached, purchase every single can of Campbell's soup you see.  Since most of you apparently never leave the house, let me remind you that there are no oversized grocery products marked "BONUS." Sorry, c'est la vie.

4) Go back to your shelter with your old game show tapes and enjoy. And don't bother setting the TV to any regular stations, such as CBS or ABC. Since most of you only watch game shows, you probably won't care what's actually going on in the outside world, such as, say, the Presidential election.

:-P

Two things that are predictible here:

1. People complaining about GSN and how they are ruining everything.

2. People bashing the complainers in the same ole' tired way.

Lighten up, folks. :-)

And the 3rd predictable thing, and I've mentioned it before:

Some (if not most) will be sleeping through the new channel, Snoring As We Speak, or SAWS for short.

As for me....ZZZZ.
