Game TV - Sept 2024
« on: September 02, 2024, 05:37:05 PM »
GameTV has started their new schedule.

Price is Right is back but they started with the Sept 1982 episodes, which they've aired twice before.  Their promos include some '72 clips though.
Password Plus has joined the schedule and they started from the premiere
Tattletales has finally been refreshed and they started in the middle of the week beginning 1/7/75 with Meredith MacRae, Sheckey Greene and Bobby & Elaine - the week where the studio audience participated in some of the questions.

It's good to finally see some different Tattletales episodes - I think they ran thru the initial batch about six times.  They did skip a few episodes between batches though.

They've dropped Tic Tac Dough and Hollywood Squares for now.

You know, not with the intention of encouraging the perpetuation of unsubstantiated claims read here and there, but I do find it very interesting that notable Sony library classics are getting pulled from their current platforms...

I’ve not heard what ever scuttlebutt you’re referencing.  Is there talk about a “GSN Classics” channel or something on Pluto?

Scuttle...huh? Anyhow, I've stumbled upon two rumors that likely can't both be true...but also neither could be true.
Yet, either sound somewhat fitting.

Door #1: Sony thought it would be a fine idea to launch a GSN Classics channel on Pluto around 30 years after the original cable effort spawned
Door #2: Sony recognized that BUZZR's already an established game show classics outlet, and rather than invest in launching an entirely new channel themselves, they finally made a deal with Fremantle to hand over the key to the vault

Regardless of the possibility, I'm certain they're resurfacing somewhere.

Season 1 Price episodes start on Sept. 16th. One of the daily Match Game episodes switches to 1979 on that date as well.

There's also a pretty significant change to the morning schedule on Sept. 16th with The Next Line, Love Handles, and Acting Crazy joining.

Sweet! Does this mean Bumper Stumpers and Talk About are on their way out?

Just updating what Greg posted earlier:  they did run two 1972 episodes of Price is Right today, beginning with the second episode from 9/5/1972.  Match Game '79 started from the 1/2/79 episode according to what Johnny told Gene when he asked what day it was.

Other morning changes went ahead as scheduled.

It took me until yesterday evening when I went to watch them off of the PVR to realize that the hour block of Price would be two episodes back-to-back. As predicted, they were #0012D and #0013D(R).

/Which means today's showings will feature Boo Boo playing Grocery Game

I was wondering about that.  Break the Bank is nearing the end again and I guess they unfortunately don't have the Jack Barry episodes at this time.

Body Language started with the Betty White-Ed Begley Jr week from 1984, the fifth week of the series.  Kind of surprising they didn't start with the premiere, as a lot of the shows they pick up do.

I think they just shop the BUZZR "ready for air" aisle. Has BUZZR ever aired an earlier episode, not counting the pilot?
