Bumping because CBS is now hitting back:

This can apparently be traced back to an attempt by Sony to buy back the distribution rights to WOF and Jeopardy for over a billion dollars earlier this year:

Capitalism, I guess. I hope the shows survive.

Why would they not survive. Surely they make enough money that the right people would line up in order to produce and distribute the show.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

Inside scoop: CBS is still sending the shows to stations as always, but Sony is now sending its own version with the CBS Distribution slate edited from the end. My station was advised today to stick with the CBS versions.

Kind of true.

Sony sent Monday's and Tuesday's show for both Wheel and Jeopardy about mid-week and went no further. I personally 86'ed the Sony pitches out of my facility's storage upon the statement from CBS that they would continue distributing the show for now. We have gotten no further pitches from Sony past that.

It is amazing to what lengths a new management team at Sony--from the head of distribution to the head of the studio to the head of the corporation in Tokyo--will go to attempt to improve their profit margin on two of the few profitable franchises they currently produce.

CBS has its hands full with far more significant battles than this one.

This will become a lot more fun as time goes on.  Both sides are kamikaze.
