According to a tweet from Puck News' Eriq Gardner, a judge has granted Sony Pictures a preliminary injunction in their case against CBS Television Distribution. Sony is now free to tell stations that they will be handling distribution of new episodes of Wheel and J! directly from this point forward.

That language is a bit inaccurate.  It's more that the judge denied CBS's PI that would have enjoined Sony from shopping the shows.

Keep in mind that this was a PI, not the final ruling, which means CBS is free to continue the case and pursue damages based on Sony's actions.

Will this ever end?

The current contracts end in 2028, so yes.
