So...will third time be the charm, or will executives finally figure out that Monopoly simply isn't meant to be a game show?

Weren't the first two attempts really just game show formats that had Monopoly squeezed into them?

This sounds more like "Monopoly with real properties," although somehow I don't see over a dozen hotels being built. It definitely sounds like there will be alliances and backstabbing involved somehow.

I’m with you, brother.

Friends and I called our games Cut-Throat Monopoly back in the day because our trade negotiations would get rather tense. Some of that spirit might be nice in the show. If it’s physical challenges and worm eating, then the hell with it.

Monopoly 1990 was okay as a weekly series.  The host was about as exciting as watching grass grow.  It had a fun Blockbusters style questioning for the main game that you could play along with at home.

While Monopoly Millionaires' Club was a guilty pleasure of mine, sadly the show ran its course and fizzled out much like a comet.

I know both Rick Dees and Marc Summers did Monopoly pilots I think.  i watched both and both were quite lame and awful.

I do not see this latest attempt at making Monopoly a TV game show/reality B.S. show working either.

Monopoly was also one of the games on Family Game Night hosted by Todd Newton. Their version was called "Monopoly Shuffle."
